Ok so here is the deal. I am doing a photo shoot thing with my photographer friend in a week from today. I have been working out pretty hard core and been watching what I eat, and ultimately decided to cut the week before the shoot. The truth behind those ripped abs and cut arms in fitness magazines is that the models will typically "cut" 1-2 weeks out from the shoot ("cut"-decrease body fat) They typically stay at a healthy body fat 12-14% regularly and cut down for the photo sessions ranging anywhere from 8-12%. I have talked to some professional fitness models to get their advice on how to do this for my shoot and here is what I will be doing for the next week:
1. Increasing my cardio to at least 1 a day and if possible twice using an interval type training
2. Cutting dairy out of my diet
3. Cutting salt out of my diet
4. Drinking 3-4 Liters of water a day leading up to the shoot
5. Day before the shoot eliminating water as much as possible
6. The day of the shoot only sipping water if absolutely necessary
I am sure some of you will have your opinions on this, but I have put a lot of research into it and have talked to many health and fitness professionals to make sure that I am doing it correctly. So to help me stay on track and reach my goal I am going to keep a diary every day that way I will have to be accountable to someone!
So today was the first day...SUCK!
Breakfast: Rolled Oats (oatmeal the unflavored stuff) with water/ coffee black
Lunch: Brown rice/Chicken (seasoned with Ms. Dash...these seasonings have no sodium)
Snack: Tall SFCaramel Soy Latte (This did have some sodium but only about 4% of your daily value so not to bad for the first day), 1 cup of brown rice and a few walnuts/almonds dry and unsalted
Dinner: Tilapia with broccoli
So I can't lie this is REALLY difficult, but hopefully it will pay off in the end. Before I started I was at 14% body fat and about 130-133 lbs. I plan on taking my measurements and weight again in a week to see how much "cutting" really affects my body. Till next time...

It's nice to have a goal though - knowing you don't have to do this forever. Remember - if you feel the need to eat...go brush your teeth! Good luck!
PS- is the photo shoot for when you look for a job in Huntsville? Or are we going to see you on the cover of the next "Shape" magazine?
You are going to look A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! You are already have a gorgeous body, I can't imagine there being any room for improvement. You are such an amazing person and inspire us all with your commitment. I know it's not easy, but you do it anyway, and reap the benefits. You're doing such a great job!
